Easy DIY Tassel Earrings
Tassel Earrings – and statement earrings for that matter are popular this spring! I’ve stopped at the jewelry section at every store I’ve gone to lately in search of cute statement earrings. Almost everyone, I find a pair I want but don’t really want to pay for!
Growing up, my mom used to make her own earrings all the time, which was inspiring but jewelry making has never really been my thing — until I couldn’t really afford to buy several pair of earrings. So, I decided to take advice from my mom and make my own! I’m so glad I did. I get constant compliments on them and no one has even suspected that I made them myself.
DIY Tassel Earrings
- Polymer Clay or Gemstone Charm
- Embroidery Thread
- Jumprings
- Earring Fronts
- Earring Backs
- Super Glue
If you don’t have a gemstone charm, you can use polymer clay! I created a marble effect with two colors I liked, cut it out with a small cutter, and then used a drill bit to create a hole (because I’m extra resourceful like that), and popped it in the oven according to the instructions on the package. Once you take it out and let it cool, attach a jump ring.
With your embroidery thread, tie a knot around both sides of the thread, and then cut it in half. Whether you’re using Polymer Clay or a Gemstone Charm, open your jump ring and attach it to the embroidery thread.
Use super glue, or another strong glue, to attach your earring to the back of the charm. Let dry completely.
These DIY Tassel Earrings are the perfect way to dress up any outfit and make a statement!
