I’ve mentioned before that we live in a hand-me-down home. This home is not completely ours but is for the time being. This bathroom was in need of a major remodel – and we are on a tight budget so I couldn’t re-tile the entire room! Since this bathroom hasn’t been updated in many, many years, we wanted to at least get it in a place that didn’t look like it walked out of the 1970s, but without spending so much money. Surprisingly, the patterned blue wallpaper and the custom valance on the shower gave it away immediately ;). Read more about our house here.
ROOM TOUR – GUEST BATHROOM REMODEL (ON A BUDGET)
The wallpaper was already mostly falling off, and took only about thirty minutes to tear down completely – I was so shocked. We painted the room tour with HGTV Sherwin Williams Passive Gray – which is my new favorite color.
We were not ready to paint the wood paneling, so we have left that for now. I bought this Nate Berkus bath rug from Target, the curtains from Big Lots, the chandelier from Basket Market (Hobby Lobby’s wholesale store, aka Heaven), and the Shower Curtain from World Market (affiliate link).
As you’ve probably noticed throughout my blog, I am not a fan of shabby chic, but there was something about this shower curtain that made me really happy. Perhaps it was the bright colors or how feminine it was – but either way, we ordered this curtain and haven’t looked back since.
I love that this room connects to our Guest Bedroom, and has both a powder and bathroom that you can separate with a sliding door. This room still has a little work to do, but I am so happy with how feminine and happy it has turned out.
