I saw a Glitter Clutch the other day when I was visiting Von Maur – and it happened to be made by Kate Spade who is pretty much my style icon! It was gorgeous, it was bright pink and had black glitter on the top part. While I love Kate Spade and would drop a million dollars on her products, I knew it wasn’t something I would carry unless it was a special occasion!
Of course, I decided to DIY it — DIY is practically my middle name!
DIY GLITTER CLUTCH
- Clutch (this is the same clutch I bought on Amazon Prime!)
- Black Glitter
- Mod Podge (I used the Glitter Mod Podge!)
- Washi Tape / Painters Tape
- Paint Brush
First, start by taping a straight line across your clutch where it folds with either Washi or Painters tape. I chose washi tape because painter’s tape was nowhere to be found in my house! Once I did this, I began to cover the taped area with Mod Podge!
Then it’s time to make a mess! Pour your glitter all over your Mod Podge and let dry completely. Once it’s dry, repeat.
Gently, take the washi tape off. Then, add one last layer of Mod Podge on the top to keep the glitter from falling off. I made sure to add a little bit of Mod Podge where the tape was so that everything is sealed in.
I can’t wait to carry this clutch with me to New Year’s Eve! It will definitely add a pop of color and some sparkle to my outfit!
