First, roll your refrigerator biscuits out. With a knife or some cookie cutters, cut heart shapes into your dough.
Once all your heart shapes are cut out, heat your oil. Grab a scrap of dough, about a 1″ round ball, and slowly enter it into your oil. Let it brown up, flip it and with metal tongs, pull it out gently and place on a paper towel. This help you know if the oil is ready and how long the donuts should be in the oil.
Begin placing your donuts in one at a time, carefully removing before they get *too* brown.
Once they’re out, pat dry and cover with either powdered sugar or icing. My personal favorite kind is to use a can of chocolate frosting, and then dunk them into colorful sprinkles. There’s just something about the texture that makes the donuts irresistible, but also makes you feel like a kid again.
These donuts are so simple to make, and would be a crowdpleaser for your valentines (or valentines!) brunch. I also love them because they’re so inexpensive to make and they come straight from the heart.
These easy donuts are sure to be your valentine’s favorite!
